Method of connecting motor terminals and wires
Release time:2024-09-09Views:1467

There are various methods for connecting motor terminals and wires, which mainly depend on factors such as the type, power, working environment, and required connection reliability of the motor. Here are some common connection methods:

1. Screw fixed connection method

Characteristic:
Suitable for most motor terminals, especially those with screw holes.
The connection is firm and not easy to loosen.
Steps

1) Prepare tools and materials: screwdriver, insulation stripping pliers, insulation tape, suitable wires, etc.
2) Wire stripping:
Use insulated wire stripping pliers to strip a certain length of the outer layer of the wire, exposing the conductor core inside. The stripping length should be determined based on the depth of the terminal screw hole and the diameter of the wire.
3) Inserting the wire:
Insert the stripped wire conductor core into the screw hole of the motor terminal.
4)
Tighten screws: Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws, ensuring that the wires are tightly connected to the terminals. During the fastening process, be careful not to apply excessive force to avoid damaging the wires or terminals.

2. Crimp connection method

Characteristic:
Suitable for occasions that require high connection reliability, such as high temperature and high vibration environments

Use specialized crimping tools to crimp wires and terminals together, forming a reliable electrical connection.

Steps:

1) Prepare tools and materials: crimping pliers, crimping sleeves, insulation stripping pliers, insulation tape, suitable wires, etc.
2) Wire stripping: Similar to the screw fixed connection method, use insulated wire stripping pliers to strip off the outer layer of the wire.
3)
Crimping: Insert the stripped wire conductor core into the crimping sleeve and use crimping pliers to crimp the sleeve together with the wire and terminal. During the crimping process, it is necessary to ensure that the sleeve is tightly attached to the wire and terminal without any looseness.

3. Welding connection method

Characteristic:

The connection is firm and the electrical performance is excellent.
Suitable for occasions with high requirements for connection quality.

Steps:

1) Prepare tools and materials: soldering iron, soldering wire, insulation stripping pliers, insulation tape, suitable wires, etc.
2) Wire stripping:
Use insulation wire stripping pliers to strip the outer layer of the wire.
3) Welding: Apply an appropriate amount of solder paste (optional) to the contact part between the stripped wire conductor core and the motor terminal, and then use an electric soldering iron to melt the solder wire and cover it on the contact part, forming a welding point. During the welding process, attention should be paid to controlling the welding time and temperature to avoid damage caused by overheating.

4. Plug in connection method

Characteristic:

Convenient and fast connection, suitable for occasions where frequent replacement of wires is required.

Some motor terminals are designed as plug-in type, which can be directly connected to wires with plugs.

Steps:

1) Prepare tools and materials: suitable plug-in wires, insulation stripping pliers (if wires need to be stripped), etc.
2) Stripping
(if necessary): If the wire needs to be stripped to expose the conductor core, use insulated wire stripping pliers for stripping.
3)
Insertion: Insert the stripped wire (or wire with plug) directly into the socket of the motor terminal, and ensure that the plug is in close contact with the socket.

Precautions

  • Before performing any connection operation, make sure that the power supply is disconnected to avoid the risk of electric shock.

  • Select appropriate wires and terminals to ensure they meet the technical requirements of the motor and the requirements of the working environment.

  • During the connection process, attention should be paid to safety, appropriate tools and materials should be used, and relevant safety operating procedures should be followed.

  • After the connection is completed, carefully check whether the connection is firm and reliable, and perform necessary insulation treatment.
